Though these Autumn days can still bring warm sun, it won’t be long before the first snowflakes fall and we’re pulling on wool socks and hats before going outside. How lucky are we to have the ability to wrap ourselves in toasty clothes that make outdoor work and play a joy! Not all in our community have that privilege.
For more than thirty years, the Tamworth Community Christmas Project (TCCP) has provided warm clothing, and even sometimes small presents which lift spirits, to children from Tamworth. Families are referred to us and offered a form for parents to complete outlining the needs of the children in their home. Using this information and your donation, TCCP organizes volunteers to shop for items which can make the difference between warm toes and cold, satisfying outdoor play or staying indoors.
There is a Japanese proverb: “One kind word can warm three winter months.” We’d like to shift this slightly to one kind gift can warm three winter months! Your donation to TCCP in any amount at all, whether $5 or $500, will make it possible for our volunteer shoppers to purchase warm boots, coats, snowsuits, hats, and mittens for more than 70 Tamworth children, just in time for the snow to fly.
The only funding for this program comes from you, our TCCP supporters.
You make this program work!
The shopping season starts sooner than you might think, so please send your tax-deductible contribution now; our elves are ready to find wonderful bargains to maximize each donation’s potential.
